wow, this topic could be so in depth but in truth my inspiration came from lipstick. so many women walk around with a face from . . . I’m not sure, I guess their “prime”. the colors they wear today are the same ones they wore in their early twenties and in many cases they have a hair style to match
I’m not one of those women. I like to switch things up and while I may end up buying something that is very similar to something that I already have or have had at some point in time I prefer to try something new. there are a few exceptions to this rule which include hair and skin products, I’m open to trying new stuff but usually after I realize that my old stuff just isn’t doing what I want it to do anymore.
so today I broke my rule. one of my favorite lip glosses (MAC dazzleglass “bare necessity”) is literally on it’s last drop, so I walked to Field’s (okay, technically Macy’s) to buy a new tube. in truth I was looking for “roman holiday” but they didn’t have that one so I tried “get rick quick”, I liked it and bought it. but then I walked around with it on and while I will say that it’s a pretty color, I can’t say that I like it more than the one I’m finishing. so I did something brave, I admitted fault and returned it for the right one. now you may be thinking that the right one could very easily be the one that seems to be a MAC store exclusive, I don’t know. what I do know is that the one I have really fits the bill for a natural but sexy gloss that looks wet and seems to brighten my face. I also took a moment to view a few fall potentials ~ it’s time to take advantage of the Back to MAC program and get my free lipstick, I’m leaning towards “odyssey”. today’s other big thought (yes, it was a light day for me) was hair, I’m on the long end of my long/short cycle.
so I’m curious how many younger women are caught in the “old” make-up bag routine, do share . . .
